Quick little jacket

August 02, 2012

I whipped up this little polar fleece jacket for Emily yesterday.  I made a similar one for Isabella when she was a baby and she wore it lots.   I didn't use a pattern so it sort of 'evolved' as I was making it.  Luckily Emily was playing the game and let me try it on her a few times as the pieces were coming together so I could trim and measure as I went.
When I say 'whipped up', I mean I didn't neaten the seams.  Since it's polar fleece there will be no fraying.  I left the cuffs long so Emily can grow into it a little.  The edging is a sweet printed interlock I had in my fabric stash.  I used it to cover the buttons too.
With a low of 4 degrees predicted tonight, I think Emily will be getting some wear out of this jacket when we are out and about.

I'm linking up here today.
