A vintage Blake dress and fabric GIVEAWAY

January 22, 2016

If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a sneak peek of this beautiful fabric. I found about three metres of it at the op shop this week. I was so excited! $3.50 and so pretty! I have been motivated to sew this week so after making Issie her swan dress (which she has already worn three days in a row), I was excited to make her up another one in this floral.  I used the Blake dress pattern by Mingo and Grace which I bought about a year ago and used here.

I love the more cut out shape across the shoulder blades (although be careful and apply sunscreen!), and I also love the big soft pleats.  I only lined the bodice (the pattern has the skirt lined also which is lovely). I find that invisible zips can sometimes be the most expensive part of making a dress when I use recycled fabric.   I ended up buying a bulk lot of different coloured invisible zips from ebay. I think I paid $12 AUD for 25, which is very cheap!

Isabella lost her two front teeth about a week before christmas - we love her gappy smile...

We enjoyed some summer rain tomorrow and Issie asked if she could put on her cardi - I found it at the Warrnambool Mill markets a couple of days ago - all hand knitted and never worn for $20.  So much nicer than something from Target and I love the soft colour.

So I have some of this lovely cotton leftover which I would like to give away. The piece is 85cm x 145cm (approx). I am running this giveaway through my instagram account, so please head over there to enter. Open to anyone:) All the details are over on instagram!
