JULIETTE COLLAR: FREE PATTERN PIECE

Jill and I had wanted to try a large peter pan collar with the Juliette during testing but got too busy so decided to add it as a free piece that you can use instead of the ruffle. I was eager to see how the collar looked with the bias neckline and I love how it turned out - especially with the ties option at the back. PATTERN RELEASE: JULIETTE DRESS + TOP!

This pattern has been a pleasure to create, mostly due to the collaboration with my good friend, Jill from Kneesocks and Goldilocks! Jill and I are excited to have the Juliette dress + top pattern ready for testing! All of the photos in this post are care of the very talented Jill from Kneesocks and Goldilocks, with whom I have had the pleasure to get to know and work with over the past couple of months! All of the photos in this post are Jill's...amazing makes for her two daughters, Lola and June. Head over to her IG account for details. if you have already read about the pattern here or on IG, you know all about it already...but if not, here are the details:

The Juliette dress + top is a classic A-line silhouette with a soft ruffle neckline.  A faux button placket can be added for extra detail at the front. The dress and top can be made sleeveless or with short or three quarter length sleeves.  In seam pockets can be added for those who can’t wear a dress/top without pockets! The dress and top close with either a button and loop incorporated into the neck binding, or with bias ties.  A great staple dress and top to complement your girl’s wardrobe.

INTRODUCING JULIETTE - A NEW PATTERN AND COLLABORATION

Today I am very excited to share the new pattern I have been working on over the past couple of months.  I am extra excited because I have been working together with someone who is one of my sewing superstars!  A couple of months ago, Jill from Kneesocks and Goldilocks (IG sewing extraordinaire) and I began communicating about working on a design together. We exchanged sketches, photos, ideas and more ideas and eventually decided on this sweet and vintage inspired dress and top - the Juliette Dress and Top!  The name was suggested by Jill for two reasons.  1. I have a daughter named Juliette, and 2. The neck ruffle reminded her of some of the clothes worn by women in the time of Shakespeare...so Juliette it is!
