My first crochet project

Here is my beautiful little Emily, sporting my proud first crocheted project! I have had a bit of a go at crochet before... I got excited and made some granny squares last year after borrowing a 'teach yourself crochet' book from the library. The squares are sitting in our linen cupboard waiting for something. I also had a go at a scalloped edge on this hat. But this is the first 'garment' I have crocheted.
I used this pattern from Ravelry as a base, although I changed the increase pattern towards the end as it was becoming to big. I also added the earflaps to keep little ears warm!
Don't look too closely - it's not perfect but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
