IKAT FINCH DRESS

June 11, 2018

Today I am sharing a Finch dress I made for Emily using some beautiful Indian Ikat cotton.  A few weeks back the lovely ladies at Fibers to fabric emailed me asking if I was interested in sewing something up in one of their fabrics.  Fibers to fabric are based in India and specialise in Ikat, batik and embroidered fabrics.  I have a soft spot for Ikat prints so was keen to try it.  The fabric is beautiful and soft and shipped in no time.  They offer free shipping to some countries too.  Currently this particularly print is sold out but there are other colourways available like this gorgeous one.

I didn't have enough fabric left over to make the bias for the neckline so made some baby pink bias binding for the keyhole and neck ties.  This is a test version of the pattern and the keyhole is smaller in the final version.   The Finch pattern will be available to purchase on Wednesday 13th. Yay!

By the way, someone had a visit from the tooth fairy last week!!

The Finch dress will offer three sleeve options as well as sleeveless and also offers a three quarter elastic waist accented with buttons.

Thank you Fibers to fabric for this beautiful print. We love it!
