NEW PATTERN RELEASE: SORELLA!!!!

May 06, 2019

Today I am very excited to announce the release of a new sewpony pattern - Sorella!  Some fabulous testers and I have been working quietly the past month or so on this beauty, and I hope you will love it!!  My daughters sure do.  The Sorella pattern is a super versatile design offering many options for dresses, tops and sweaters.  Two full colour block options are possible for the dress options and the tops can also be colour blocked.  Both dress and top offer a short dolman sleeve, long straight sleeves or long puffed sleeves – which look particularly stylish in the jumper style top.  A gathered sleeve ruffle can also be added.  The colour blocked dresses offer in seam pockets at the waist.  The top can be made as a T-shirt or with cuffs as a jumper.  With so many possibilities for colour and print combinations, you can let your creativity shine! Sorella is Italian for ‘sister’.  My three girls have Italian heritage and are best friends as well as sisters so this pattern is named after them.  The pattern is sized 12 months - 12 years and is available in both English and Dutch - a big thank you to Tessa for the Dutch translation!!  YOU CAN FIND THE ENGLISH VERSION HERE, AND THE DUTCH HERE.  Use the code SORELLARELEASE to receive 20% off until Friday 10th May (midnight Melbourne time).

Below you can see some of the possible options for sewing the Sorella. Dresses - plain or colour blocked, with or without sleeves, with or without inseam pockets. Tops - cropped or regular length, with waistband or without, plain or colour blocked and sweaters - plain or colour blocked, regular or gathered sleeves.  You can really get creative with colour combinations!!

Isabella is wearing the horizontal colour blocked dress.  A great way to play with colours and prints and a super comfy dress.  In seam pockets are possible in the skirt seam line.

Emily is wearing the cropped length diagonal colour blocked tee.  The waistband can also be added to all the tee options.

Juliette is wearing the sweater with gathered sleeves - such a fun and easy detail to add to provide interest and style.  Juliette LOVES this sweater and has worn it countless times in the past two weeks.

Below  Isabella and Emily are wearing sweaters with regular and gathered sleeves.  They look great with shorts, skirts and jeans.

Of course I couldn't have produced this pattern without the help of some lovely testers!  Many lovely ladies tested the design and they made so many beautiful things and provided invaluable feedback! Thank you Anke, Audrey, Barbara, Daisy, Deborah, Elvira, Evelien, Fanny, Femke, Inge, Josefine, Kristie, Marieke, Mijke, Mirari, Nele, Nele, Nicole, Noortje, Renee, Rineke, Sarah and Tessa.

The fabrics used in these Sorellas are all by See you at six - purchased from Maai design.  French terry is the ideal fabric for this project, although other knits such as ponte de Roma, jersey, regular sweatshirt fleece are also great!

I hope you are inspired to grab yourself of Sorella! Such an easy and versatile pattern, with plenty of options to create a new garment each time you sew!

Happy sewing!
