MAYU PATTERN RELEASE
April 27, 2020
Today I am releasing the Mayu dress pattern!! So excited for this one!! So far, I have made five Mayu dresses and counting because they are so fun and quick to sew (four or five dresses shown here). The Mayu dress pattern is available in English and Dutch in sizes 12mo-12y. You can receive 20% off this week with codes MAYUENGLISH and MAYUDUTCH (expires Friday 1st May, midnight Melbourne time). You can find the pattern HERE!
The Mayu
dress is stylish, comfortable and uncomplicated. It features a cocoon-shaped silhouette providing
comfort and ease of wear. In-seam
pockets are a great detail which compliment the cocoon shape. Add shoulder ruffles because who doesn’t love
ruffles? Choose between short or long
sleeves, or leave the long sleeves unhemmed and fold twice to achieve a pretty
cuff. Suits stable knit fabrics
only. Make it in French terry for winter
or in jersey for summer. Easy to make
and easy to wear, the perfect dress for all kinds of play.
A big thank you to my wonderful testers who helped me test the design! Thank you Celine, Daisy, Elvira, Josefine, Josiane, Kristie, Lindsy, Marjolein, Marla, Natasha, Nicola, Nicole, Polly, Renee, Sarah and Tessa! You all did a wonderful job!
Emily's blue Mayu dress is made from lovely French terry from Spotlight. I got away with making the long sleeves with only a metre of fabric with some careful tetris cutting! French terry is a great weight for this dress - summer or winter!
Her second dress is made from a jersey - also from Spotlight. Emily loves all things magical, so pink + unicorn fabric = win!
Isabella's is a soft cotton knit (not sure exactly of the type), and you can see that lighter weight fabrics also hold the cocoon shape well, although you shouldn't choose a fabric with too much drape.
And finally onto Juliette's floral Mayu dress! It is made from a Ponte knit (also, again from Spotlight). Ponte is PERFECT for this design. It holds the shape so well and is resistant to creasing, which I love!! And guess what?! I'm giving away a copy of the Mayu PDF pattern and 1 metre of this beautiful Ponte knit (150cm width). Head over to my IG account to enter!!
I'll be back this week to share some beautiful Mayu dresses from my lovely testers!
