The weather here in Warrnambool is certainly getting chilly. Each morning Juliette wakes up and asks me, "is it going to be warm or cold today Mummy?" I have told her that for the next three months at least, my answer will be, 'cold'. She needs to know this so she can decide whether to wear a cardigan and tights with her school uniform. Our winters are reasonably mild in comparison to much of Europe, North America and Canada, for example. It hasn't snowed in my town since 1981 - and that was apparently a big novelty!
I am excited to share my Moiano coat today. The Moiano coat pattern is the latest fabulous pattern created by my blogging friend An from StraighGrain in Belgium. An only learned to sew when her first daughter was a couple of years old. Since then she has become a self taught pattern designer and she sews beautiful things for her two daughters. I have sewn many of her patterns and Moiano is awesome!
A few months ago, a friend of mine gave me a lovely gift. A beautiful blue coat that she wore as a girl of six or seven in her then home country of England. The coat has beautiful lines and details and fits Isabella perfectly. You may have seen this picture I posted on instagram recently. I was inspired to reproduce it and so made a coat for Juliette.
