Today I have the pleasure to announce the winners of my Dressed in sewpony sewing contest!!! Firstly, I want to thank everyone for making the effort to participate. I really had SUCH a difficult task choosing my ten favourites from each category! I am actually glad that I did not have the final job of scoring the ten entries from each category. Thank you Mie, Naomi and Jill for scoring the International entries and thank you Jenya, Maaike and Kristine for judging the Aussie entries. I have decided I will get straight to it and announce the winners of the Australian category...the scoring was definitive for the Australian place winners which are as follows:

Maaidesign is owned and run by my online friend, Maaike. Maaike is a lovely Belgian lady who now calls Sydney her home. The Drapery is an online and bricks and mortar fabric store in Adelaide. It is part - owned by Fiona and Jane. You may know Fiona already...she is the author and amazing pattern maker behind the label, Hop Skip Jump. If you have followed my blog over the years, you will know that I have sewn up many of Fiona's beautiful soft toy patterns (you can see some of my old hop skip jump posts here). I own her book (Hop Skip Jump) which I treasure and which is unfortunately no longer in print. Sad face. The second place winner of the Australian entries is Zoe from Soulfed on thread. Zoe made a fantastic Miss Polly dress in bright fabric for her sweet daughter. Zoe's piping and fabric pairing was spot on and she was also the clear second place winner. Zoe will receive the prize below!

Me and My Feet are an online shoe store based in the US. They stock a huge array of shoes for people of all ages. I Love Fabric (formerly Pink Chalk Fabrics) are a fantastic online fabric shop based in the US. They offer a personal service and a beautiful range of fabrics. Soft Cactus are an amazing Belgian brand of fabrics and also...dolls!!! The Soft Cactus brand was founded by Naomi and Bart - a husband and wife team who run the business while supporting their three children. I adore Soft Cactus fabrics and late last year (about a week before Christmas)....I discovered the Soft Cactus dolls! I promptly ordered three - one for each of our girls even though I knew they could not arrive on time. They were a belated gift on behalf of our overseas family and we all love them. There are five girls to choose from (Left to Right), Emma, Lotta, Naomi, Anna and Liu. The dolls are 33cm (13") tall which is such a nice size. Their faces and hair are stunning. Each doll comes as seen below, but comes with a special bag filled with supplies and a pattern (with instructions) to create your own outfits for them! The packs supply enough to make two reversible dresses with aprons and head ties. Such a beautiful gift. And guess, what? My girls tell me the dolls smell like Vanilla! And they do! Little Light Feet are an American based company specialising in gorgeous hosiery for children. Little Light Feet is owned and run by Katie - an Australian lady who now lives in Louisiana with her husband and two children. She created the company because she wanted her little girl to wear sweet little socks and couldn't find any! Sofie from Wensje made a beautiful blue striped Dulcie dress for her sweet little toddler. The Dulcie dress is a free sewpony pattern, however, Sofie is also a sewpony customer. She used thrifted fabric to make the dress and I loved how she played with the stripe direction. Sofie added buttons at the back instead of an invisible zip. The judges also loved Sofie's dress which is why she is the second place winner! Well done Sofie and thank you for entering!
