Little Betty in pears!

September 29, 2017

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I am close to having the revision of my Little Betty top pattern ready for testing.  I first released the Little Betty top a few years ago now and I wanted to update it for a few reasons. Firstly, it only went up to size 8 which is inconsistent with the size range of all of my other patterns (12MO-10Y).  Secondly, I wanted to add some simpler options to allow the pattern to be a go to knit top pattern that was quick to make.  And, thirdly, I wanted to try digitally drawing my sewing instructions.  So, today I can show you the simpler 'sans frills' Little Betty top I made a couple of days ago with the trademark cuffs and waistband.  PS....I am considering changing the name of the pattern and am looking for feedback.  You can help me in a little poll in the sewpony patterns fb group!

The Little Betty top BLOG TOUR: imagine gnats//groovybaby...and mama!

January 21, 2014

This is the last day of The Little Betty top blog tour.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the variations of my pattern.  Today you will see two different takes on my pattern - one with a multi fabric combination omitting the frill, and the other in a solid coloured dress!   Today I have the pleasure to show you what Rachael from imagine gnats and Trine from groovybaby...and mama! have made.

Rachael writes the popular blog, imagine gnats.  She sews for her daughters, herself, creates patterns, manages an online shop and hosts some great series too.  Unfortunately due to our latest move of house (which I will tell you about later), I had to pull out of Rachael's pattern tour, but I look forward to showing you a couple of tumble tees for Juliette next month.  It's a fab pattern and I know I will use it heaps - thanks Rachael!!  Her blog has had a bit of a revamp and is looking fresh and exciting!  Head over to imagine gnats to see Rachael's Little Betty top!

Trine blogs from Denmark and you definitely want her on board if you are doing a pattern tour.  She guest posted her with a dress for her gorgeous daughter Wilma and for herself for When we were young. The dress she made herself apparently was pinned a gazillion times! Go Trine!! I loved it - such fab fabric.  Trine sews for her four children (two girls and two boys) and for herself.  Her photos are stunning and I just love everything she makes.  To see Trine's gorgeous dress, head over to groovybaby...and mama!

Thanks so much for joining me guys!

You can buy my pattern HERE.  You can receive $1 off the full price with the code: BETTYTOUR1.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me with my tour and for all of you have purchased my pattern already - yay!  I will pop back in a couple of days to do a round up of the other versions of my pattern created by my pattern testers who do not have blogs.

Ta ra!

Shino writes the blog Nutta! which I happily discovered a few months ago.  Shino is Japanese and moved to America three years ago.  She has only been sewing for 12 months - so great!!  She sews for her two daughters and for herself.  Shino is new to sewing and even newer to blogging - she has only been blogging for eight months, but has already built up an impressive repertoire of beautiful handmakes  You can read more about Shino here, and you can see an overview of her 2013 creations here.  I can't wait to see more of this sweet gold heart Little Betty over at Nutta!

Venus is the super creative Mum behind the blog, Suburbia Soup.  She has guest posted here at sewpony for When we were young.  She sews the coolest stuff for her sweet sweet daughter Lala.  How cool is this Louisa dress?  I am pretty excited that she will be sharing two Little Betty tops today...how cute is the pic below??  I am jealous of that knit fabric!!  I can't wait to see more.  Go to Suburbia Soup and say hi to Venus and little Lala!!

The Little Betty top BLOG TOUR: Sews and Bows//Emma en Mona

January 17, 2014

Here is the last blog tour post for this week.  The Little Betty  tops so far have been fantastic! Today, I have Amy from SewsNBows and Griet from Emma en Mona showing you their loveliness.  You can buy my pattern HERE.

Amy from SewsNBows makes cute clothes for her sweet little daughter - have a look at this Sally dress, plus accessories and dolls clothes!  Her daughter must love all the things Mummy makes!  Amy made up a sugary sweet Little Betty in pink and purple - every little girl's dream! Thanks Amy!!

The lovely Griet from Emma en Mona won the most recent series of Project Run and Play (which is currently running it's ninth season).  Her signature style look was phenomenal! She sent me a very sweet 'condolence' message after I was 'sent home'.  Since then we have visited each others blogs more often and I love her style.  When Griet signed up to test my pattern, I was pretty excited as everything she makes her beautiful twins is awesome.  Have a look at this sweet horse dress!  Griet blogs from Belgium.  She has a translate button on her blog which is handy (although the translations are often terrible and hilarious!).  I think Emma and Mona must be the best dressed girls in Belgium.  Have a look at her Little Betty below....head over to Emma en Mona to see more.

Thanks so much Amy and Griet!! I can't wait to have a better look.

See you all on Monday for two more days of Little Bettys!

The LIttle Betty top BLOG TOUR: I seam stressed/Pienkel

January 14, 2014

Hi everyone!  Today is the first day of The Little Betty top blog tour.  Throughout the tour you can purchase my pattern for $7AUD (usually $8AUD) by using the coupon: BETTYTOUR1. To purchase my pattern, click HERE.
I can't wait to see all the versions of my pattern that these lovely ladies have made.  The first ten bloggers on the tour kindly helped me by testing my pattern and giving me some great feedback to improve it. Tasha from I seam stressed and Nienke from Pienkel are showing you their lovely tops today.
Tasha has been blogging for less than a year and sews awesome stuff for her daughter (and also now her baby son).  She mixes fun prints and textures and always creates unique pieces.  Have a look at her 'out of this world' Halloween costumes that she made for her children inspired by the classic book, The Little Prince. And check out her sweet Little Betty below and click HERE to see more.

Nienke from Pienkel blogs from the Dutch island of Tershelling - such an interesting sounding place!  I love that blogging helps me connect with people from all over the world! Nienke sews for her gorgeous three children.  Nienke has a new (ish) series called "Weekly Pin Project", inspiring sewers to link up and share projects inspired by pins they have pinned on Pinterest...what a great idea!.  One of my favourite of Nienke's past sewing projects are these gorgeous ladybug bathers....so cute!!   Today she is sharing a Little Betty she made for her youngest daughter.  Head over to Pienkel to see more!

Thank you so much Tasha and Nienke - for your help with the pattern and for joining in my tour!

Make sure to check in tomorrow for our next two guests!
