Some of the wonderful perks of being connected with creative people around the world is being sent amazing fabric to sew with!! My lovely friend Sofie from WISJ lives in Belgium with her husband and two sweet daughters. I first 'met' Sofie when she tested one of my patterns.  I quickly became a fan of her style and sewing.  Sofie makes gorgeous patterns too!  But today I am talking about her first line of fabric created in conjunction with About Blue Fabrics!  Sofie's four designs are titled 'Home' and are printed in lovely French Terry.  You can see the four prints and read more about it here.  The fabrics are now available in many online shops.

Issie top #3

I'm back to show you another Issie top! I recently helped a friend out with some sewing jobs. She generously gave me some fabric money in return.  I made the grey Issie top from some of the fabric I bought, as well as this one, and another I'm yet to make.  For this top I used a thicker sweatshirt/windcheater type fabric I found at Spotlight.  Since the fabric is thicker I decided to make a plain top without ruffles.  I also copied Mijke's idea for this one and cropped the length of the top (by 8cm) and took a bit off the waist band too (4cm).

ISSIE TOP #2

I am on an Issie top roll...this is the second one I have gotten around to photographing.  I shared a pic of this one on Instagram but wanted to get some outdoor photos to show it off better.  I lucked out when  I found some rusty coloured French terry fabric at my local op shop a couple of weeks ago.  At first, I saw it and didn't buy it.  I left the shop thinking it was not a pretty colour.  A couple of days later I went back and bought it.  Paired with pink cuffs, neckband and waistband, now I love the colour!

Issie top #1

Today I am sharing one of the Issie tops I made for myself with the recently released Issie pattern for women.  When the pattern was released last week I hadn't had a chance to have some of the tops I made photographed since I was working full time during the day and the weather was wet and grey at night.  I finished this top on the weekend.  It is made from grey sparkly French terry I found at Spotlight.  Unfortunately, the sparkles are hard to see in these photos, but I appreciate the subtle bling.
